Requirements for setting up an Admob Ad Source:

  • Aerserv SDK iOS | Android
  • Enter Admob Ad Unit ID to Aerserv UI
  • Android requires updating the Android Manifest and gradle.build file

How to Set Up an Admob Ad Source

Step 1: Log on to http://platform.aerserv.com/ and click on the Ad Sources link on the menu at the top of the page

Step 2: Click the + or Add New Ad Source button

Step 3: Enter a name for the ad source

Step 4: Select Admob as the ad source in the drop down box

Step 5: Enter the following fields that are specific to the Admob site ID

Admob ID The ad unit ID assigned by Admob Required

Step 6: Enter a CPM (example: 3.50)

Step 7: Select a placement(s) to assign this ad source to

Step 8: Set the desired priority; the lower the number, the higher the priority

Step 9: Select any desired geo or device targeting 

Step 10: Click the Save button

Step 11: Download the AerServ SDK

AerServ SDK
  • Download the Android SDK from the links above or log on to the AerServ platform here
  • Click the SDKs & TAGs tab on the top menu
  • Click the Download SDK button
  • Unzip the AerServ SDK
 
1. In the build.gradle for your app, add the Play-Services-Ads library under dependencies. (Note: There are two build.gradle inside your project, a project build.gradle and a app build.gradle. You will want to add the following line inside your app build.gradle.) 
 
compile 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:9.2.0'
 
If you are using Android Studio and don't have the following version of play-services, the SDK Manager will prompt you to download the version. 
 
2. Add the following to your AndroidManifest.xml:

<uses-permission android:name="com.google.android.providers.gsf.permission.READ_GSERVICES"/>

<activity android:name="com.google.android.gms.ads.AdActivity"
android:configChanges="keyboard|keyboardHidden|orientation|screenLayout|uiMode|screenSize|smallestScreenSize"/>

iOS

AerServ SDK
  • Download the iOS SDK from the links above or log on to the AerServ platform here
  • Click the SDKs & TAGs tab on the top menu
  • Click the Download SDK button
  • Unzip the AerServ SDK

If you already have the latest Admob iOS SDK, there is no need to do anything additional.

If you don't have the latest Admob iOS SDK, we have included it in the SDK download.

  1. Open Xcode and click on the + sign on Linked frameworks & libraries  
  2. File directory: aerserv-ios-sdk/network-support/Admob/GooglemobileIOSSDKframework
  3. The SDK depends on the following iOS development frameworks which may not already be part of your project:
    • AdSupport
    • AudioToolbox
    • AVFoundation
    • CoreGraphics
    • CoreMedia
    • CoreTelephony
    • EventKit
    • EventKitUI
    • MessageUI
    • StoreKit
    • SystemConfiguration
